The Committee on the Rights of the Child organizes the Days of General Discussion (DGD) every year in Geneva, to develop a deeper understanding on certain content or implication of particular article of Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) with the participation and contribution of various NGOs.
“Digital Media and Children’s Rights” is the DGD theme of this year, with the aim to better understand the impact and role of children’s rights in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT), in order to develop rights-based strategies on children’s equal and safe access, as well as children’s empowerment and engagement.
To contribute on building a better cyberspace for children, DotKids Foundation submitted our position paper to the committee and participated in the DGD in person, so as to share our concern on the unaware Revolution on Cyberspace, where child-related domain soon be launched online, will bring influence to Children and adopt UNCRC as guiding principle is crucial.
